Picosecond Laser picoEmerald at Zhejiang University

Delivery and commissioning of larger laser systems usually require highly qualified engineers to install such equipment. Customers must be able to rely on manufacturers sending engineers to any place in the world for installation and commissioning. However, the current pandemic situation and the associated travel restrictions have significantly impaired this actually common way of working.

Professor Delong Zhang of Zhejiang University (China) was concerned that a planned installation of a new high-performance laser system in his laboratory could not take place as planned. Due to travel restrictions, it was impossible to send a specialist to China to carry out a planned installation of a picoEmerald picosecond-laser system and to provide hands-on training for Prof. Zhang’s team on the system.

But thanks to the active support of PulsePower – APE’s distribution and service partner in China – it was possible to help Prof. Zhang quickly and without complications.

Within a few days, PulsePower’s technical crew completely installed, tested and qualified the laser. In addition, Prof. Zhang and his team received intensive training in the operation of the laser. The PulsePower technicians are particularly proud of the fact that they have exceeded the laser’s specifications beyond the factory standard requirements.
