APE’s Review of 2020

The year 2020 was a special year for all of us. Particularly Corona has turned our lives upside down and will remain in our memories. With strict adherence to hygiene regulations, we had to adapt our working methods quickly to the situation.

Many APE employees are working from their home office. Real conferences have been replaced by virtual meetings. Installations were performed by our service partners on site, often with the technical support of our experts via remote access.

This year’s distributor meeting was held completely virtually. Many consultations with our customers were conducted digitally. Of course, real contact with people cannot be completely replaced digitally. But on the other hand, this year also showed the advantages of the purely digital. Regardless of time and place, we have entered into digital-personal contact with our partners much more often. And, by the way, we have been able to positively influence our CO2 footprint. 

Above all, we would like to thank our production department, laboratory staff, shipping department, and all those who could not do their work from their home office. It was a great challenge to create a Corona-compliant strategy for our employees and production processes at short notice. We are very pleased that the implementation worked so well and that many of our customers received their products on time.

Our thanks also go to our customers and business partners who have placed their trust in us during these crazy days. We will continue to do everything in our power to meet your expectations in 2021 as well.

Especially now, during the Christmas season, making gifts plays an important role. But it is also time to think about the people who are not doing so well. This year our employees have made a lot of proposals for initiatives for which we donate a certain amount of money on behalf of APE and our customers.

One of the initiatives we are supporting this year is dynamis e.V., an association that supports people with disabilities and their families. We support Kinderträume e.V., which fulfills the heart’s desires of children and young people with life-threatening illnesses. We support the foundation Humor Hilft Heilen (Humor Helps Healing), which among other things helps to establish professionally trained clowns in clinics and residential care homes. Another donation this year goes to the SozDia Stiftung Berlin, which is operating a nature and adventure playground in Berlin. We support Sea Shepherd, which helps to stop the extinction of maritime species and the exploitation of our oceans. We are sponsoring Wikimedia, which collects donations for Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects in Germany. With another donation we thank Samaritan’s Purse, which helps people in need and provides medical aid and humanitarian help in catastrophic situations. We support the Oberstufenzentrum Lotis in the heart of Berlin, which among other things is concerned with the language education of disadvantaged children. Last but not least, this year we support the efforts of the Berlin Zoo, the Berlin Tierpark and the Berlin Aquarium.

All APE employees wish everyone a Merry Christmas, a relaxing time between the years and a successful start into a hopefully healthy New Year.
