CARS and SRS Microscopy with picoEmerald FT
January 17th, 2026 Coherent Raman techniques such as CARS and SRS (Stimulated Raman Scattering) enable fast, label-free chemical imaging by directly addressing molecular vibrations. In practice, their successful implementation depends on tunable, ultra-low noise and precisely synchronized picosecond pulse pairs.
At APE, we have focused on translating these requirements into an easy to use and fully integrated solid-state OPO-laser system: The 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗙𝗧.
The picoEmerald FT is routinely used by our customers in CARS and SRS microscopy. Typical applications include lipid and protein imaging, drug uptake studies, Raman labels, and chemically selective contrast in complex biological samples.
Our new application webpage shows how a turnkey picosecond source supports reliable, day-to-day coherent Raman imaging allowing researchers to focus on the biological or material question rather than laser alignment.
