In their latest research, Torben Fiehler, Clara Saraceno, Günter Steinmeyer, and Ulrich Wittrock show in detail how you can prevent misinterpretations of autocorrelation measurements. Spectrally broad laser radiation from continuous wave (cw) lasers can produce second-order autocorrelation traces that closely resemble those of mode-locked lasers.
