Through its association with Angewandte Physik & Elektronik GmbH - APE (Berlin, Germany), this new company is a technology leading supplier of optical parametric oscillators and tools for ultrashort pulse management and diagnostic.
The company is focused on APE’s growing North American customer base and is located in Silicon Valley. This new company will equally support and benefit customers in all parts of the US, Canada, Mexico and South America.
Profiting from APE’s 18 years of successful business and cooperation with many leading research facilities in North America, Europe and Asia, Applied Physics & Electronics, Inc. is offering a portfolio of high quality and high value added products, The company is concentrating on close customer relationships and partnerships to enable emerging applications.
Led by its Managing Director, Olaf Korth, Ph.D., Applied Physics & Electronics, Inc. will be dedicated to maximizing the added value of its product portfolio for research and industrial applications. The company will establish R&D and manufacturing capabilities, complementary to the existing state of the art facilities in Germany.
Olaf Korth worked in R&D and in technical management positions for commercial laser companies over the last 12 years. His industry experience and expertise in a wide variety for commercial laser systems, non linear optics and diagnostics has been built through working for Positive Light, Inc., JDS Uniphase Corporation and Newport Corporation / Spectra Physics, where – most recently – he had the position of a Senior Product Development Manager, Scientific Laser Systems.
