waveScan

waveScan

Spectrometer for Mid-IR, IR, VIS or UV

The waveScan is a rotating grating spectrometer. This technology enables it to cover a wide wavelength range from 200 nm to 6300 nm. Especially at wavelengths beyond silicon and above 1100 nm users profit from highest resolution at a low cost. The quick and easy exchangeable input port adapts the waveScan to free-space or fiber lasers. The software offers useful analytical tools and of course data export. The waveScan is also ideal for automatization and long term measurements and can be controlled remotely by USB or TCP/IP.

High-Resolution Spectrometer:  200 nm – 6.3 µm Wavelengths at a Competitive Price

Cost-Efficient And Compact Spectrometer

waveScan spectrometer by APE is a compact and cost-efficient optical spectrometer to characterize light sources, e.g. ultrafast as well as cw laser systems. The rotating grating technology achieves high resolution at fair scan rates. This makes waveScan an ideal real-time alignment tool for laser systems.

UV at 200 nm to Mid-IR at 6.3 µm

Different configurations, from 200 nm UV to 6.3 µm in the mid-infrared range, make waveScan the choice for analyzing the spectrum of different laser types.

Fiber Inputs Available

waveScan is available with an interchangeable fiber input in addition to a free-space input. Whether you need fast scan rates for adjustment or high resolution, combined with convenient measurement control and data processing – waveScan is the ideal solution.

Plug and Play via USB & Spectrometer Software

waveScan Spectrometer is easy to use and supports plug and play via USB connection. The software is included and provides a bunch of featues. For example, waveScan  automatically searches for one or two peaks in the  measured spectrum and displays the peak wavelength, centroid wavelength, and full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the peaks. In the “set peak search window” of the spectrometer software the user can set the wavelength windows in that the peaks are searched for. The user can lock these search
windows to the selected “Wavelength window”, or can set minimum
and maximum wavelength for each search window separately.

The Economical Advantage - Rotating Grating

waveScan closes the gap between low-cost spectrometer offering low-resolution and more expensive high-end equipment. The waveScan principle is based on a rotating grating, driven by a small and precise motor. Therefore it has substantial advantages over conventional types of spectrometers (e.g. beam splitter) which are usually complex, large in size and more expensive.

High Resolution IR Spectrometer

With its resolution down to 0.05 nm (depending on the wavelength range), it offers greater precision over a larger wavelength range compared to standard compact CCD based spectrometers. Especially in the spectral region longer than 1.1 µm – which is beyond the capability of silicon based CCDs – the waveScan  offers an easy way for high resolution measurement.  The high spectral resolution in combination with a scan rate (refresh rate) of 5 Hz make it especially useful for laser – short-pulse as well as cw – and optical fiber characterization.
